We are proud to announce the pre-launch of OYSTER by Swedish designer Charlotta Åman: A Premium, Sustainable Baby Nest at Milan Design Week 2025! As part of a group exhibition featuring around 70 projects from like-minded creatives working towards a more sustainable future, OYSTER will be presented for the first time at Milan Design week, offering visitors an exclusive opportunity to experience the next step in eco-conscious parenting. 





At the heart of OYSTER is its baby nest—a safe, cozy, and supportive space designed for babies to sleep, rest, or simply relax. This multifunctional baby nest offers unparalleled comfort and security, providing a nurturing environment for babies while meeting the needs of modern parents. Crafted from organic, sustainable materials, OYSTER ensures safety, comfort, and style, making it the perfect companion for parents who value both quality and sustainability.

Designed with minimalist Scandinavian aesthetics, OYSTER is more than just a product—it’s a statement piece that seamlessly integrates into modern homes, environments, and on-the-go lifestyles. The baby nest is at the core of OYSTER’s design, while it offers an all-in-one solution that can be used as a baby nest, changing mat, or play area for newborns.





The collaboration between SUMO and Swedish designer Charlotta Åman reflects a shared passion for sustainability and design innovation. Åman holds a Master’s degree in Product Design from ECAL, University of Art and Design Lausanne, where she first developed the concept for OYSTER as her diploma project in 2021. Her approach emphasizes simplicity, innovation, and environmental responsibility, bringing a Scandinavian sensibility to baby care design. The result is a premium product that meets the needs of both parents and babies - functionally and emotionally. 



"Working with Charlotta Åman has been a true privilege," says Caspar Böhme, Founder and Managing Director of SUMO. "Her innovative design for OYSTER, which began as her diploma project at ECAL, has come to life through our collaboration. We worked side by side to turn a visionary concept into a marketable product and went the extra mile together to not have to make concessions on sustainability, we even developed an alternative to polyurethane foam for OYSTER with research institute STFI.”

Just as with our diapers, we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in eco-conscious baby products, now with a sophisticated approach that resonates with a new generation of parents."
